Terms of Service

Effective date: November 1, 2026

About these terms

These terms cover the LinkTiles Chrome extension, web app and website (together “LinkTiles”, “we” or “us”). They apply once you accept them, either when you create an account or when you accept them in the app, wherever a link to these terms is shown. If you do not agree, do not create an account or keep using one.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Accepting these terms is not consent to anything the Privacy Policy does not describe.

Using LinkTiles

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are not old enough to agree to these terms on your own, a parent or guardian must agree to them for you.

Keep your sign-in details safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what you do with LinkTiles and for activity you allow.

LinkTiles is free. There are no subscriptions or paid features, and donations do not unlock anything. We may add, change or remove features. If we ever offer something paid, we will show its price and terms and ask for your agreement first; these terms never authorize a charge.

If we decide to shut down the cloud service permanently, we will give at least 30 days’ notice in the app and on our Releases page, so that you can export your data. If an urgent security problem, a legal requirement or events outside our control make that impossible, we will give as much notice and chance to export as we reasonably can.

Your content

You keep whatever rights you have in the links, notes, tasks and other content you add. Using LinkTiles does not give us ownership of it. Saving a link or an image from someone else’s site does not make you its owner either; it stays subject to its owner’s rights.

You give us permission to store, copy, transmit and display your content only as needed to run the LinkTiles features you use and the sharing you turn on — for example syncing it between your devices, showing site icons, and keeping small product-photo previews of pages you save. We never use your content for advertising or for anything unrelated to LinkTiles.

When you delete something, it is hidden straight away and kept so that you can restore it, until you delete your account. When you delete your account, our permission continues only for the time our deletion processes, and our providers’ logs and recovery copies, take to run out, as described in the Privacy Policy, or where the law requires us to keep something.

Anything you add to a space or project that someone else owns stays with that space or project, including after you delete your account.

Only save and share what you have the right to.

Sharing

Sharing a space shares everything in it, including anything added later. Sharing a project shares everything in that project. People with view access can see and copy what you share; people with edit access can also change and delete it.

Only you, as the owner, decide who has access. But a share link can be forwarded: anyone with a verified LinkTiles account who has the link can join at the level you set, without asking you first. Before joining, they can see the shared item’s name, its access level and your display name.

Turning a link off or resetting it stops new people joining with it, but does not remove anyone already in; remove them separately. Removing someone’s access takes effect quickly but not instantly, and it does not take back exports, screenshots or copies they already made. LinkTiles is not a confidentiality agreement between the people you share with.

Acceptable use

Do not use LinkTiles to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone else's rights, including copyright;
  • send unwanted invitations, spam, or links to malware or phishing pages;
  • harass, threaten or deceive other people;
  • access accounts or content you have not been given, or get around limits we put in place;
  • disrupt, overload or attack the service or the people who use it.

To report content or behavior that breaks these rules or the law, such as harassment, spam or illegal material, email hellolinktiles@gmail.com with enough detail for us to find it. We assess reports, most serious first, and may restrict access, remove content or close accounts where appropriate. We do not monitor everything in LinkTiles, and not every report leads to removal. Copyright complaints follow the process under Copyright below.

Product photos

When you save a page with the LinkTiles extension, it may pick out the page’s main product image and keep a small preview of it with the saved link. The preview is shown only to you and to the people you share that link with.

Product photos belong to their owners. A preview does not mean the owner has given permission, endorses LinkTiles or is connected to it, and saving or sharing a link does not give anyone a license to the image. If you own an image and want a preview removed, use the Copyright process below.

We respect copyright and respond to notices of claimed infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Reporting infringement

If you believe content stored in LinkTiles infringes your copyright, email a written notice to hellolinktiles@gmail.com with “Copyright notice” in the subject line.

Your notice must include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature, or that of someone authorized to act for the copyright owner;
  2. the copyrighted work you say is being infringed;
  3. the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it — for example the share link you received, the name of the space or project, and the title of the saved link or note;
  4. your name, postal address, phone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  6. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.

When we receive a notice that meets these requirements, we promptly remove or disable access to the material and tell the person who added it. If a notice is missing information, we may ask for it. Knowingly making a false claim in a notice or counter-notice can make you liable for damages.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can email a counter-notice to hellolinktiles@gmail.com that includes:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. the material that was removed, and where it appeared before it was removed;
  3. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification;
  4. your name, postal address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the US federal district court for your address (or, if you live outside the US, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept legal papers from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.

We will send a copy of your counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us they have filed a court action to keep the material down, we will restore it 10 to 14 business days after we receive your counter-notice. A counter-notice does not decide who owns the work.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright. An account that receives three valid notices within 12 months, none of them successfully answered by a counter-notice, will be closed. This is not an allowance: we may close an account sooner when the infringement is clear and serious.

Ending your use

You can stop using LinkTiles at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. Where it is reasonable and lawful, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first.

No warranty

To the extent the law allows, LinkTiles is provided “as is” and “as available”, without implied warranties such as merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We work to keep it reliable and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, so keep your own export of anything important. This does not remove any warranty or right that the law does not let us exclude.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of LinkTiles, and our total liability for all claims relating to LinkTiles is limited to US$50.

These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in these terms takes away consumer rights that cannot be given up by agreement.

Changes to these terms

Each version of these terms is identified by its effective date. Before a significant change takes effect, we will tell you with a notice in the app and a note on our Releases page. Where a change needs your agreement, we will ask you to accept it in the app before it applies to you; if you do not, you can stop using LinkTiles and export or delete your data. A change never applies to anything that happened before it took effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Texas. If the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts or under your local law, you keep that right.

General

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. These terms do not create a partnership between you and LinkTiles.
